Long-term blow to Liverpool title rivals could see Reds in pole position for domestic trophies

There’s a mighty interesting report in the Telegraph right now that could be potentially devastating for Chelsea and other top flight clubs…

A massive investigation is currently underway by FIFA’s Integrity and Compliance unit that has proposed a two year transfer ban for the Blues and four unnamed Premier League sides.

The reason being, Chelsea have signed NINETEEN U18s from abroad illegally since 2014, with FIFA keen to impose proper transfer sanctions upon them as a result.

It’s not for a Liverpool fan to get on a high horse about this, as there’s so far no word on who are the other clubs are – and the fact we’re already banned from signing English Academy players for two years after an illegal approach to a Stoke City youngster.

But if Chelsea and others are banned, they’d be significantly weakened as potential rivals for trophies.

Being able to strengthen in transfer windows sets a team up for the season and although Chelsea already have an excellent side, they will stagnate if a ban is imposed.

Hopefully for Liverpool, Manchester City will receive a similar sanction, although the truth is, they’ve bought so many good players over the past few years, they don’t really need to use the transfer market for two years.

For now, we’ll eagerly await future developments.
