Bayern signing Ramsey allows Liverpool path to sublime AMC Löw loves

Kai Havertz won his second cap for Germany last night and stole the show as Jogi Löw’s men defeated Russia 3-0 in Leipzig.

The 19-year-old was sublime in a creative midfield role and looks like he’ll be taking Mesut Ozil’s position in the side long-term.

“I really liked what I saw from him tonight. He offers security with the ball and always goes forward,” said Germany’s World Cup winning manager, while Bayern Munich ace Josh Kimmich spoke up the youngster’s chances of earning a summer switch to the Bundesliga’s biggest club.

“I cannot buy him, but Kai Havertz is a player who would suit us well,” the fullback told Goal.

Below, you can see his assist for Serge Gnabry’s goal… (Arsenal were foolish to let the exceptional winger go, weren’t they?)

While Bayern might want Havertz, they’re heavy favourites to secure Aaron Ramsey on a Bosman from Arsenal, with the Independent claiming the Germans think they already have their man. The Welshman plays in the same position as Havertz, who is at Bayer Leverkusen – a club that with with Rudi Voller as sporting director – despises selling to Bayern.

Here’s where Liverpool should step in. At EOTK, we’ve heard from a very good source that Liverpool’s current plan for next summer is to spend big, big money on the perfect midfield playmaker – as this is the only role Jurgen Klopp feels the need to directly strengthen.

Having turned our attentions away from Nabil Fekir and with Christian Pulisic not performing at elite levels for Borussia Dortmund right now, we’d like to throw Havertz’s name into the hat.

He’s phenomenally talented, can dribble, pass and possesses vision that we’ve rarely seen on a teenager. The kid is already starting for Germany before reaching his 20th birthday and his stock is going to continue to rise.

Bayern are usually able to pin down Germany’s most exciting prodigies, with the Ramsey and Voller factors give us a better chance – on top of the fact we’ll be ready to spend big on the one position that needs fixing.

Havertz already has six goals and three assists for Leverkusen and is only going to get better and better.

We’ve been heavily linked to Havertz in the past, such as here in the Echo, but we reckon now is the time to start solidifying the rumours before a summer 2019 switch.
