Oxlade-Chamberlain slams Arsenal fans as he offers promising injury update

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is aiming to be back playing for Liverpool before the end of this season after posting an update on his recovery – praising Reds fans for their patience in the process.

He told LiverpoolFC.com“The next target for me is to build up more in the gym, back towards being able to run outside again.

“I probably have to do two months of running, which is not really my favourite thing, and then when the ball comes out it becomes easier.

“It would be nice just to get a few appearances before the end of the season.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been sorely missed with the Reds lacking linkages between midfield and attack, but he has praised Reds fan’s empathy by aiming a cheeky dig at Arsenal supporters.

He added: “I’ve had injuries in the past where it’s been difficult because pressure from fans has been ‘he’s injured again’ or ‘we can’t trust him he’s always injured’.

“I’ve got injured here and I’ve had nothing but positive feedback from the fans, which for me I can’t thank them enough. That’s what keeps me going every day: to try and reward their support.”

If he can’t help the team on the pitch, having a pop at our rivals is certainly no bad thing! We can’t wait for him to return.
