“He will not leave”: Klopp laughs off speculation surrounding key midfielder

Jurgen Klopp has laughed off the idea that Fabinho could be sold in the January transfer window – saying he feels the Brazilian is settling well at Liverpool and can become a key man.

Klopp said, via LiverpoolFC.com“He was ever one for the future. Is he settling? Yes. He played and he did well, so it’s all good.

“He used the time to adjust to what we want him to do. That was really good. The last games he played were pretty much all good or better.

“Of course, he will not leave. I don’t talk about transfers but if you want to ask, nobody leaves here. That would be completely crazy – he doesn’t want to, it’s only the crazy world out there that people, if they don’t play in the last five games, immediately open kind of a transfer market.”

It’s crazy how quickly people forget that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andy Robertson took time to get used to the system last season, and with Fabinho coming from a different league, it was always going to be a long-term process.

By the end of the season, he could well become a crucial part of the team. Given Michael Edwards’ recent transfer record, that would hardly be a major surprise.
