Reds agree a second contract extension of the week

Liverpool’s throw-in coach, Thomas Gronnemark, has extended his contract with the club, with Jurgen Klopp impressed by the results the unorthodox employee has produced so far.

Joe Gomez has been able to extend his throw significantly under the Dane’s guidance, offering another angle of attack for the Reds.

Gronnemark said, via the BBC: “Gomez’s throw-in against Croatia showed it is a dangerous weapon for Liverpool and England. It won’t be used very often, but the opponents have to think twice before they put the ball out of play.

“The extension documents Liverpool’s satisfaction with my work and the fact that they recognise and acknowledge the results we’ve achieved with the players.

“I hope that our hard work will be rewarded with good results when the season comes to an end in May.”

It might not be as significant a contract extension as the one Sadio Mane signed, but even so, small details are what it takes to win Premier League titles. If the Reds win the league via a goal from a throw-in, every club might have a throw-in coach soon!
