Klopp makes admission about plans for Henderson before red card

Jurgen Klopp has admitted he was left frustrated with Jordan Henderson’s red card against Watford – because he was moments away from replacing him with Fabinho.

Henderson had already been booked and had been warned a couple of times by referee Jon Moss, before he was given a second yellow card for a tactical foul.

Klopp said, via LiverpoolFC.com: “Twice he was there with a hand and made a tactical foul. The second one I didn’t like too much because we wanted to change him in that situation. Fabinho was ready and then he got it.

“Things like this happen, it is nothing serious and we won the game. The only not-so-nice thing is that he cannot play against Everton but that’s already accepted.”

It will be a blow for him and the team to have to play the Merseyside derby without Henderson, but there is no doubt the Reds can win that game regardless.

He is now almost certain to start against PSG midweek given he will be unavailable for the weekend.
