Bundesliga giants eye prolific LFC teenager in search for next Sancho/Nelson

Bundesliga sides have turned their attentions to Bobby Duncan in the battle to boast the next English youth success story.

The Liverpool starlet has scored 12 goals for Barry Lewtas’ U18s so far this season after completing his move to the club in the summer.

His early impression recently saw him earn a maiden call-up to Neil Critchley’s U23s for the recent 7-0 International Cup defeat to Villarreal.

Interest in Duncan seemingly stems from Jadon Sancho’s burst onto the scene since his move from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund, as well as Reiss Nelson’s superb start with Hoffenheim after signing on loan from Arsenal.

Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are two of the club’s targeting the cousin of Steven Gerrard, according to the Daily Mail.

Whilst refreshing to see, the impact of both Sancho and Nelson will have undoubtedly generated fear among Premier League clubs keen to retain their young talent.

Liverpool had to battle such pressure last season when Borussia Monchengladbach tried to pluck Rhian Brewster from their youth ranks. The Reds later deemed their approach for the talented striker illegal and subsequently cancelled a friendly that had been scheduled to take place between the two sides.

The lure of regular first team football has started to pin perhaps valuable pressure on English sides to not only step up their coaching and development of young players, but also to carve a more realistic route into the senior setup.
