‘Too complicated to explain’: Latest on Clyne’s mysterious injury

Nathaniel Clyne remains out injured for Liverpool – but Jurgen Klopp says he does not know when the right-back will return.

Via the Liverpool Echo, he said: “It’s difficult. It’s not serious but it keeps him out of training.

“Yesterday he was out on the pitch doing a bit of running but in a bit of pain. He’s not available. I don’t know exactly how long.

“It is too complicated to explain what he’s done but it’s nothing ruptured and nothing broken. It’s an intensity reaction.”

With Joe Gomez out for six weeks, having Clyne back would have come in useful.

The positive, though, is that Rafa Camacho, who impressed in pre-season and has been excellent for the under-23s since then, could be given a chance when Trent Alexander-Arnold needs a rest.

Summer signing Fabinho can also play full-back as he has for both AS Monaco and Brazil in the past.
