Promising LFC youth striker linked with move away as contract ticks down

Canadian international forward Liam Millar, who has impressed for the Reds’ under-23s this season, is reportedly being lined up for a move away from Merseyside.

Since arriving from Fulham in 2016, Millar has been regarded as a top player coming through the Liverpool ranks. Now 19, though, he might be looking for a move away.

Millar has four senior caps for Canada. His contract expires at the end of the season, though, and according to The Daily Mail, several Championship clubs are tracking him, as well as sides from abroad including in the Netherlands and America.

Foreign teams can open negotiations with the player from January while domestic teams would have to wait until the summer.

While it would be a blow to lose the talented youngster, who scored twice in the young Reds’ thrashing of Arsenal yesterday, there are other players coming through in the same position who are arguably more likely to make an impact at first-team level.

Bobby Duncan and Paul Glatzel have been in stunning form for the under-18s this season and Rhian Brewster should return from a long-term injury in the next couple of months.
