Reds loan player can’t catch a break; injured again in ‘aggressive training game’

Marko Grujic had to leave Hertha Berlin training early today thanks to an injury, just days after he was hailed as being the best Hertha midfielder in two decades by his manager.

Grujic has only recently returned from an ankle injury, but this time it was the other ankle that looked to be hurt – his left one.

According to Kicker, coach Pal Dardai said: “It was in the training game today which was like a match day. Both teams were very aggressive and passionate about it, and Vladi [Vladimir Darida, who was involved in the incident] was extremely aggressive today – that’s what I wish from him.

“The situation with Marko was unfortunate and we have to wait and see.”

The full extent of the injury is not yet known – but Grujic faces an anxious wait for test results. He’s been so unlucky with injuries and just when he appeared to be finding some form, it looks like the Serb might be out again.
