‘Could play for Barca…’ LFC’s unsung hero lauded after Napoli masterclass

Andy Robertson was yet again sensational midweek v Napoli, but when isn’t he?

The Scottish left-back is maybe our most consistently good player, alongside Virgil van Dijk. He simply never puts in a performance below 7/10.

So good was Robbo that he’s been nominated as one of the Champions League Players of the Week, in fact.

Former Red David Thomson loved his performance and claimed the 24-year-old would be a starter for Barcelona.

We wholeheartedly agree, and reckon that Jordi Alba is maybe one of only a few left-backs around who could claim to be better than Scotland’s captain – not that we’d swap them if given the chance!

Alberto Moreno doesn’t get a sniff at Liverpool anymore because of the form of Robertson and we expect the Spaniard to continue on the bench for the rest of the season, injury permitting.

Next summer, Moreno will likely and fairly depart in the search for more minutes, so Adam Lewis can come in as Robbo’s backup.
