Bleacher Report correspondent Dean Jones, as well as a number of other publications in fairness, stated the the Scot was on the verge of renewing terms as a reward for his brilliant 2018/19 form.

But James Pearce of the Echo and David Lynch of the Evening Standard categorically denied these claims
The more respected journalists have no idea where the news is coming from, suggesting the club and player are equally as confused – with the sole focus Liverpool’s festive fixtures.
Pearce, Paul Joyce and the like are not often wrong, but they are sometimes. They didn’t have their ears to the ground on the Alisson transfer and there were many claims on the day of his transfer that we were not even interested!
But with a contract renewal story, we can’t imagine the club would keep information from them.
Robbo does deserve a new contract, by the way, but he’s attached to the club until 2021 and there isn’t a desperate rush to get his pen put to paper.
We reckon in the summer, the 24-year-old will be given lucrative new terms.
