Massive £45m ‘deal done’ influences LFC’s choices next summer

It looks like Christian Pulisic has all but completed a move to Chelsea.

Bild are reporting that the American will transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Stamford Bridge for a fee of around £45m next summer, with the deal now finalised.

The young American’s contract expires in 2020, so with Pulisic showing no sign of extending terms, despite numerous offers, BVB have decided to cash in.

The report suggests Liverpool were frontrunners at one point, but that Maurizio Sarri’s Blues have won the race.

For us, if Liverpool really wanted Pulisic, he’d be Anfield bound by now.

Time and time again, Jurgen Klopp has beaten our rivals to various players, such as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Virgil van Dijk, Naby Keita and Fabinho, due to his ability to sell Liverpool as a club and a project.

This proves to us that Klopp and the rest of Liverpool’s transfer hierarchy think value can be better found elsewhere.

Next summer, we fully expect an elite playmaker to arrive and bolster our creative midfield options.

But right now, we have absolutely no idea who it’s going to be!
