Liverpool eyeing January transfer for 20-year-old left-back – report

Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a January move for Lloyd Kelly amid their search for a long-term replacement for Alberto Moreno.

The Bristol City left-back has managed 20 starts in the Championship so far this season and was named England U20s captain earlier this year.

Such has been his bright impression for the Three Lions that he has since been handed opportunities with the U21s in light of injuries for Aidy Boothroyd’s team.

Kelly has now emerged as an unlikely target for Liverpool, according to the Daily Express.

Liverpool may be in the market for a new full-back over the coming months, with Moreno expected to leave the club ahead of the expiry of his contract in the summer.

The Spaniard recently expressed his frustration over his lack of first-team minutes under Jurgen Klopp since an ankle injury cut short his fine form back in December 2017.

Andrew Robertson has since cemented a starting role for the Reds and restricted his teammate to just four appearances across all competitions so far this campaign.

One possible solution to his likely departure could be the emergence of Adam Lewis in Liverpool’s supremely-talented youth ranks.

The U23s star has asserted himself as a prominent figure under Neil Critchley this season and been tipped as a leading contender to make the full-time transition to the senior setup.
