Shock Reds man named as someone Guardiola would want at Manchester City

Pep Guardiola would love to have Andy Robertson at his disposal according to The Times, ahead of Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk or any other Reds player.

Robertson has been exceptionally good over the last year or so, and combined with the fact that Benjamin Mendy is out injured, The Times say the Scot is someone the Catalan coach would love to have.

Robertson has three assists this season and is undoubtedly the best left-back in the Premier League, and it just shows how good he has been that Guardiola might prefer to have him over some of the other Liverpool superstars.

He will get the chance to show that even more when the Reds head to the Etihad on Thursday night.

Oleksandr Zinchenko will be City’s left-back on that night and is a potential weak link that the Reds can look to exploit.

On the other side, Robertson will be able to get forward and attack either Danilo or the out-of-form Kyle Walker on the right side of City’s defence.

There is no way Robertson will be moving away from Anfield any time soon – but we can see why he might be wanted elsewhere.

We’re sure Guardiola would also be interested in a few other Reds players, too, given the quality we have all over the pitch.
