Virgil van Dijk was Liverpool’s best player tonight, which is something we’ve said pretty much every other week throughout the season.

Up against Manchester City, and an in-form Sergio Aguero, van Dijk did himself proud – making countless clearances, headers and passing the ball with complete composure despite a frenetic press.
There is no question this term about his standing in world football. No other defender comes close, in fact.
For Liverpool to win the Premier League title, we’re going to need the giant Dutchman to remain fit for the entirety of the campaign.
Soon we’ll have Joe Gomez and Joel Matip returning to fitness to compete for the spot alongside him, but there is no doubt that he remains our central figure and the team’s real leader.
Van Dijk is the best Centre back I’ve ever seen live.

Van Dijk jaw-dropping again. If we had two of him at the back we'd never concede a goal.

How good was Van Dijk by the way? Won absolutely everything that came his way. Phenomenal. Shame about the lad next to him.

So I know Liverpool lost, but there seriously aren’t words to describe how good Virgil van Dijk is. Closest thing to a perfect center back I’ve seen since I started following the sport
