Reds confused at Clyne exit: ‘Makes no sense at all’

Despite the fact we’re still in three competitions and have Joe Gomez injured, Liverpool have loaned out England international Nathaniel Clyne to Bournemouth.

It’s an outstanding signing for the Cherries, but one that has baffled many Reds.

The reason being that Clyne recently returned to full fitness and has done well when selected. He was outstanding for 90 minutes against Manchester United and has done well in various cameos off the bench – against Newcastle and Arsenal for example.

There’s an FA Cup fixture with Wolves coming up on Monday night that Clyne would have 100% started – but now it seems we’ll have to use a first-teamer who could have perhaps done with the rest – instead.

Unless young Dutchman Ki-Jana Hoever is a viable alternative for first-team football –surely not at 16 years of age – it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

That being said, we trust Jurgen Klopp and his reasonings; obviously aware that with stuff like this, there’s always more behind the scenes that we’re unaware of.

Still, it’s a little odd!
