Liverpool are set to confirm the loan of Rafa Camacho to Sporting Lisbon, just days after the youngster made his full debut.

The Mirror claim that an 18-month loan deal is done and the Portugal youth international will imminently make the move, despite impressing against Wolves in the FA Cup.

Jurgen Klopp has already offloaded Nathaniel Clyne to Bournemouth this January, so Camacho will make it two right-backs gone in one window.

With Joe Gomez currently injured, this really does make Trent Alexander-Arnold the only natural option in that position, although James Milner and Fabinho have the ability to cover should the young Scouser get injured.

Gomez is returning soon and Klopp clearly feels it’s a risk worth taking, considering Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be back to bolster the midfield in hopefully a month’s time – allowing the likes of Milner and Fab roles elsewhere.

We wish Camacho luck and hope he can find plenty of minutes and a high level of performance. It’s rare that our youngsters shine on loan, with Harry Wilson a noticeable recent exception.
