Klopp has stepped in last minute to cancel Liverpool transfer

It looked for all the word that Rafa Camacho was set for a loan spell in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon.

The plans had been made and a deal agreed, but according to Portuguese outlet Record, Jurgen Klopp has ‘vetoed’ the loan transfer – judging Camacho a decent squad option and one he wants in the first-team until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old made his Liverpool debut against Wolves in the FA Cup, and didn’t do badly, although he was let down by his more senior team-mates, in truth.

Camacho plays best as winger, although for the first-team, Klopp has utilised the Portugal youth international and former Manchester City Academy player as a fullback.

We’re not sure where he’ll end up, but know if it’s at right-back, he’ll have to seriously hone his defensive skills.

Klopp wanting him to stay though should be a big boost for the player, who can now get his head down and continue to impress at Melwood.
