Late injury to Liverpool midfielder could provide Naby Keita chance v Brighton

Jordan Henderson is struggling at the moment with an injury to his calf, which kept him out of the FA Cup defeat to Wolves.

This is according to Chris Bascombe in the Telegraph, who suggests our captain may not be able to take the field at the Amex against Brighton tomorrow.

For us, Hendo was a certainty to start in midfield alongside Gini Wijnaldum, likely in a double pivot which would enable Xherdan Shaqiri, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah to make up the front four.

Fabinho is filling in at centre-back due to injuries to Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip, so if Henderson cannot play, the two options are James Milner and Naby Keita.

For us, Milner is enduring a poor run of form and away to Brighton, there seems no reason not to start our Guinean – who’s so far only been able to show flashes of the brilliance he undeniably possesses.

We hope if the skipper isn’t ready, Jurgen Klopp will back his big money summer signing.
