Mourinho takes very obvious dig at Klopp & Poch despite being sacked for being rubbish

Jose Mourinho, sacked in December for leading Manchester United to their worst start in decades, has spoken in length about how he sits in the higher echelons of managers worldwide and that those without his number of trophies are simply not the same.

The Portuguese, clearly referring to the Premier League managers he believes are given an ‘easy ride’ by the media (Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino), patronisingly suggested he wants them to win trophies so they can be spoken about in the same sentences he is.

Unbelievably, he also claimed that playing good football was ‘very easy,’ and that legacy is only defined by sustained victories…

Insufferable, isn’t he?

“One thing is image, another thing is communication, another is a good structure behind and another thing is to win and get good results,” Mourinho told the Telegraph.

“It’s very easy to play ‘well’ and not win. It’s very easy to be behind a certain idea of a certain football without results.

“The people win and the people that win consistently, because you can win isolated and then disappear, have a different idea about that.

“If you speak about Guardiola, about Ancelotti, about the ones in which I belong that have a career of victories for a long, long period, where are the young ones in terms of a real impact of results? Where are they?

“My wish is the ones that are starting, that are the beginning of their career, like I was a few years ago, like Pep was, like Ancelotti was – everybody went through the same process – I hope they transform their image and their reputation in results.

“That’s what stays, that’s what stays forever and makes you belong to a certain level.”

Mourinho’s points about playing good football being easy, but winning trophies is more important, would have much more credibility if he hadn’t lost so many matches playing a dire brand at United.

He destroyed the confidence of genuinely exceptional attackers. The fact Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has won every game since demonstrates what a virus he was.

We really hope he gets another big Premier League job one day, as we have no doubt he’ll ruin another one of our rivals.
