The three impressive club records that the Reds could break against Crystal Palace

Liverpool can return to being seven points clear of Manchester City ahead of their game against Huddersfield on Sunday by beating Crystal Palace this afternoon.

That is the most important statistic for the Reds – that Jurgen Klopp’s players will be the league leaders whatever happens this weekend – but there are a few other impressive club records that could be broken along the way.

According to LiverpoolFC.com, a win would put the Reds on 60 points from 23 matches, which would be their best ever league total at that stage of the season ever, overtaking 1893-94 season and the 1987-88 season, which both yielded 59 points at the same stage.

If the Reds can beat 39-year-old goalkeeper Julian Speroni more than once, they would reach the 1000 mark in terms of Premier League goals.

Finally, a win is exactly what the Reds require in the title race. They have won the last three meetings against Palace – but never before have they won four in a row. Now would be a very good time to change that.
