Leicester could be without key first-team starter v Liverpool

We have a number of injuries we’re concerned about ahead of our upcoming clash with Leicester on January 30th.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is fighting for fitness, but is more likely to be ready for the West Ham clash in February. Joe Gomez is in a similar situation, and we don’t expect Jurgen Klopp to rush back the Englishman after a broken leg. James Milner is suspended following his red-card v Crystal Palace, so it’ll be interesting to see who the boss fields at right-back for the Anfield tie – especially with Fabinho struggling with a hamstring issue as well!

Our opponents are not having the best tie of it themselves, of course.

They most recently fell 4-3 to Wolves, with Harry Maguire limping off in the second-half.

“It is his leg,” manager Claude Puel confirmed. “I don’t think it is a serious injury but he could not continue in the game.

“Perhaps he could not have the good jump (for Bennett’s goal) perhaps because I think he received small injury before the second goal.

“We will see.”

Puel is the favourite for the sack-race, and in many ways, we’re glad he’s not going to lose his job before our tie – as teams in the past have often got the benefit of the ‘New Manager Swing’ against Liverpool!

Even if we’re forced to field youngster Rafa Camacho at right-back, we’re confident we can continue our winning run against sides outside the top six.

So far this term, we’ve played 16 matches against these teams and won all 16. It’s that kind of form that sees us top of the Premier League table by four points.
