Liverpool have been listed as one of the clubs interested in Atletico Mineiro’s Emerson, a young right-back aged just 20-years-old.
Mundo Deportivo claim they’ve spoken to the player’s agent and that a large list of European sides have all made a ‘proposal’ to the defender, including: Barcelona, Shakhtar, Juventus, Arsenal, Inter, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Dortmund, Lille, Watford, Porto, Valencia and Betis.

We’d never heard of Emerson before this report, but on investigation have discovered that he’s shone for Brazil’s U20 side and is a regular for his club team.
Apart from that, his YouTube compilation depicts a rapid defender with panache and skills that bely his position…
(We’re not sure how well his rainbow flicks would go down at Anfield during a tight Premier League game, though!)
Right now, Liverpool badly need reinforcements at right-back, but we’re not going to enter the transfer market to secure one.
If our interest in Emerson is real, and we’d still have to beat multiple clubs to get him, it would only happen in the summer.
But with Ki-Jana Hoever coming up through the ranks and Joe Gomez able to cover Trent Alexander-Arnold, we’re not sure if Jurgen Klopp sees the position as a necessity.
