Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk is out for the first leg of the Champions League Last 16 tie due to suspension, but Bayern Munich will be without one of their key men as well…

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has a thumb injury which kept him out of Bayern’s loss to Bayer Leverkusen this weekend just gone, and according to the Daily Mail, the German is not guaranteed to make it back in time for the Liverpool tie.

His deputy Sven Ulreich is a solid keeper, but Neuer is one of the world’s best; so his potential absence will be of benefit to Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

While we’re excited about our participation in Europe, it’s our domestic fixtures which take priority right now.

Liverpool take on West Ham tonight at the London Stadium looking to reinstate our five point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

We played West ham on Opening Day and battered them 4-0 at Anfield; thanks to a raucous crowd and sloppy Hammers defending; but Manuel Pellegrini’s side are a far more organised outfit now.

The key will be to dominate possession and transition quickly when we win the ball back – as the West Ham fans simply won’t allow their side to park the bus at home.

Bring it on!
