Klopp hits back at Mark Noble comments after West Ham draw

Jurgen Klopp has refuted claims from Mark Noble that Liverpool were ‘scared’ of West Ham last night.

We dropped points for the second game running, drawing 1-1 at the London Stadium after putting in another timid performance.

But the boss was adamant that whatever our problem was, it wasn’t because we were intimidated by Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

“I wish they’ll scare more teams, then. I don’t know him so I don’t know why he would say this after the match, but no, they did not scare us,” he said, which you can hear in the press-conference below:

We were not afraid of West Ham. We were just no very good.

The performance against Leicester was drab, but this was arguably just as disappointing.

The defence looks dodgy, there was little control in midfield and the attack blunt, bar Sadio Mane – who’s been our best player in recent weeks.

Injuries have of course played a big part. Not having a proper right-back is not good, and Joel Matip is not the defender Joe Gomez is.

What’s more, Naby Keita is not playing well enough to be in the team right now, but Gini Wijnaldum’s niggling issues means the Guinean has been in the team three games on the bounce.
