Video proves some LFC fans can’t see what’s right in front of them when it comes to Naby Keita

Like Jordan Henderson and Dejan Lovren before him, Naby Keita has somehow already earned a reputation from many watching Reds that he’s ‘awful,’ despite what he does on the football pitch.

He isn’t. At all. On Monday night, Keita’s name trended on Twitter and some of the comments were ridiculous. He could have maybe done better for West Ham’s goal, but so could three or four other players, including Andy Robertson and Alisson.

But when you watch this video of his every action in the second-half, you’ll see how progressive and effective he actually was.

The Guinean played smart passes, drove forward and created a moment of magic in the dying seconds, when he scooped the ball to Divock Origi, who fluffed his shot.

It wasn’t a world-class performance, but it was a genuinely good one, especially in the second-half.

If he was awarded the blatant penalty v Leicester and Origi had finished his chance v West Ham, Keita would have been directly responsible for two game winning moments in our past two draws.

We think it’s time he got some praise and the supporters rallied behind him.
