Liverpool eye Barcelona man as Salah/Mane backup option

Would Brazilian winger Malcom swap Barcelona’s bench for Liverpool’s…?

Maybe!

We are being credited with an interest in the 21-year-old by Le10 Sport, picked up by Football Espana.

They claim that Liverpool might make a move for Malcom in the summer, after his slow start to life in Spain. Since arriving from Bordeaux in 2018, the flyer has made just four La Liga starts and his stock has dropped.

He obviously wouldn’t be a starter for us, with Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino the automatic front-three – but we could definitely do with a versatile, pacy option off the bench.

Whether that’s Malcom or not, we have no idea – but we’d be surprised if the youngster would move to a club where the players in his position are so obviously better than him.

Jurgen Klopp plans on bedding Rhian Brewster into first-team consideration over the summer, and if the youngster does well in the pre-season friendlies – he may become the primary bench option…

But a striker is still probably a priority, considering Daniel Sturridge is going to leave on the expiration of his contract and Divock Origi will likely head for the exit door as well.
