Jurgen Klopp admits he doesn’t believe Dejan Lovren ‘has a chance’ of being fit to feature in Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday.
The defender has not played for the Reds since being substituted with a hamstring injury in the sixth minute of the FA Cup defeat to Wolves on January 7.
He was also left at home for the club’s recent warm weather training camp in Marbella and instead spent time back in Croatia to see a specialist.
Having watched on from the stands in Tuesday’s goalless Champions League draw with Bayern Munich, Lovren now looks likely to miss the trip to Old Trafford.
Speaking ahead of the Bayern clash, Klopp said, per the Echo: “It was not mind games but Dejan had no chance for the game today actually, I don’t think he even has a chance for the next game. He will take his time.”

Liverpool are thankfully set to welcome back a fresh-legged Virgil van Dijk after the Dutchman carried out his one-game suspension in the Champions League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær meanwhile has injury problems of his own to contend with after Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial were ruled out for up to three weeks with respective hamstring and groin problems.
Nonetheless, the absence of both didn’t prove to be a hindrance to United as they beat Chelsea 2-0 in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night.
