‘Unbelievably valuable…’ Klopp on long-term plan for Fabinho

Jurgen Klopp lavished praise on Fabinho today during his press-conference ahead of Sunday night’s clash with Manchester United.

At the start of the season, the Brazilian was often left out of match-day squads, with the manager keen to get his new signing up to speed tactically on the training ground before letting him loose on the Premier League.

It frustrated many fans, but it was undeniably worth it.

Since perhaps early December, Fabinho has been an instrumental influence on the side.

In recent weeks he’s had to occasionally play in central defence – but has done so with aplomb.

With Virgil van Dijk back from suspension for the weekend, Fabinho will return to midfield, where Klopp says he’ll play long-term.

We actually think that next season, Fabinho may establish himself as one of the best midfielders in the country.

But on Sunday, he’ll have to deal with the Premier League’s in-form player, Paul Pogba. It’s going to be absolutely massive to our chances of securing the title – but we have to take it one game at a time.
