Solskjaer: Liverpool think every season is ‘going to be their year’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ruffled feathers ahead of Manchester United v Liverpool today.

The Norwegian, United’s manager after they got rid of Jose Mourinho in December, has claimed that Liverpool fans in his home country are delusional in their belief that their team will win things…

“I have loads of Liverpool fans back home and every year is going to be their year. It has got to October and it’s: ‘OK, next year.'” he told Sky Sports.

“Now they are in the race so for them, it is going to be an exciting finish to the league. That is none of our concern. We just have to concentrate on ourselves.”

We find this a little bit rich considering United are simply battling for fourth spot and haven’t been near securing the Premier League since Fergie’s exit – but it shouldn’t really concern us.

Jurgen Klopp and his players have a job to do at Old Trafford – and that’s it.

They’re in superb form and we’ve not played brilliantly in 2019 except perhaps against Bournemouth, who in truth made life fairly easy for us at Anfield a few weeks back.

Going into the game as underdogs might suit Liverpool. United fans will demand Solskjaer plays attacking football, which could leave space in behind for our world-class attackers to exploit.
