(Video) Henderson’s Pirlo-esque assist on 50th cap shuts up doubters

Jordan Henderson gets lambasted by England fans for basically no reason, despite being excellent in the World Cup and a mainstay for Gareth Southgate.

The midfielder was also superb against Czech Republic on Saturday and came off the bench in an impressive cameo v Montenegro last night to win his 50th cap.

One moment stood out especially. Picking the ball up in the centre of the park, Hendo got his head up and found former Liverpool team-mate Raheem Sterling with a truly exquisite through-ball. Sterling went on to finish with aplomb.

It’s the kind of pass that makes those who claim he can only play sideways look ridiculous, actually.

England ran out 5-1 winners and Hendo will now return to Melwood to prepare for our clash with Spurs on Sunday – full of confidence.

Good stuff!
