Liverpool midfielder admits rejecting offers from European clubs

Pedro Chirivella signed for Liverpool back in 2013 but hasn’t managed to break into the first team under two managers.

Since January 2017, the Spaniard has been out on loan at Dutch clubs Go Ahead Eagles and Willem II before joining Extremadura on loan in the January transfer widow just gone.

Fellow youngster Bobby Adekanye has recently spoke out about his dissatisfaction at opportunities to feature in the first team at Liverpool, but Pedro, refreshingly, isn’t of the same mind frame.

I rejected an offer from Rosenborg, who wanted to sign me for almost 4 million and I told Klopp that I wouldn’t leave,” he told Spanish outlet AS.

I do not regret because in Liverpool I became a man on the pitch and because I believe that each one has their own career. For me it is an immersed joy to see Carlos and Lato in the first team. It is a pleasure to have them as friends.”

Chirivella has one year left on his contract; once his loan in Spain is over he’ll have just the one season left at Liverpool unless he’s offered a new deal.

In six years, the young Spaniard has managed five appearances for Liverpool in between his stints at other European clubs and with the U18s and U23s squads.

It remains to be seen if Pedro has the abilities to feature for our first team, but his attitude is second to none.
