Sadio Mane sets Liverpool points tally for Premier League title challenge

Liverpool’s no.10 Sadio Mane wants us to win all six of our remaining Premier League matches in order to stand a chance of winning the title.

This will get us to 97 points – which will be the second most points a team has ever racked up in the competition’s history, behind City’s century last season.

So the fact this still might not be enough to secure us 1st place is ridiculously unlucky – but Manchester City are an outrageously good team and that’s who we’re up against.

“To be honest I think we need to win all of the games, even if it will not be easy,” Mane told Sky Sports.

“But we still can win every game because we are a good team and we play very well.”

“To be honest I don’t know because we have a few more games to go. But it’s a good sign,” Mane replied when asked if fate would play its part.

“That’s what makes you more motivated and makes everyone say ‘Let’s go, we can do it’ so I think it’s always important.

“This is a very good sign and I think everything is possible so let’s do it and win it.”

If City do win all the games they have left, then fair play – they deserve the title.

But they’ve got matches away to Manchester United and Crystal Palace, with tricky Etihad fixtures against Leicester and Spurs as well.

We only need them to drop points in one of those matches, so long as we win our six.

All we can really do though is hope for someone to step up against Pep Guardiola’s outfit and that we continue to rack up the victories.
