LFC to fight PSG for 15-assist Brazilian who will be perfect Mo Salah backup

This is a transfer rumour we have plenty of time for.

French outlet Le10 Sport are claiming that Liverpool, along with Borussia Dortmund, are one of the clubs battling PSG for Ajax’s potential superstar David Neres.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a terrific season in the Netherlands and in all competitions, has 11 goals and 15 assists in 2018/19.

Neres’s form earned him his Brazil debut in the recent international break and his value will only continue to soar.

He predominantly plays on the right flank in a very attacking role, but has also played on the opposite flank and even as a ball-carrying central midfielder for Ajax this term.

His versatility would hypothetically make him a perfect offensive option at Liverpool…

Obviously, in Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, we have maybe the best front-three in world football – but there’s very little in terms of backup or rotation options on Jurgen Klopp’s bench.

Manchester City, our biggest rivals, have Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez as replacements, for example – while the first name off our bench at the moment is Divock Origi.

Persuading Neres to fulfil such a role might be tricky, of course – but his talent is unquestionable.

Yesterday, we were linked to Thorgan Hazard, another wide-attacker with bags of ability – so it looks like that kind of player is on the radar this summer.
