Alan Brazil accuses Salah of trying to injure Porto player on purpose

TalkSport’s Alan Brazil thinks that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah should have been sent off for an unfortunate challenge on Porto’s Danilo last night.

The broadcaster said the Egyptian was lucky to still be on the pitch and even went as far as to describe the forward an ‘assassin’.

Salah was very, very fortunate,” he said on TalkSport. “That’s a red card in today’s game. You know when you go ‘ooh’ – you, know, he was just very assassin-like.

If you go back through time, Liverpool, at Anfield, have had some incredible decisions. But the crowd do put referees under pressure.”

It’s hardly a surprise that Mr Brazil has taken an anti-Liverpool stance, but you just can’t ignore that he’s basically saying ‘same old Scousers, always cheating’ in a more diplomatic fashion.

‘Assassin’ is a strong term though. It implies Salah goes out every game looking to injure opposition players, which is simply farcical and shows his bias.

I did cringe, I must admit, when I saw a replay of the our No. 11’s foot landing on the Porto skipper’s shin and thanked Robbie Fowler it didn’t end worse.

It seemed as if Salah was being held back. He isn’t the type of player who would deliberately hurt someone else – if he isn’t impeded then it’s a completely different tackle.
