Liverpool set to offload experienced int’l player

Liverpool have been brilliant this season and Alisson Becker is a huge part of that.

The Brazilian goalkeeper turned up at the club with an established pedigree, but Simon Mignolet was seemingly kept around in case our number 13 didn’t immediately settle.

Our Belgian ‘keeper has been nothing short of a true professional since the arrival of his replacement – and I’m sure most Liverpool fans would take Mignolet as a backup option.

But it now appears to be the case that the club are ready to get the experienced goalie off the books. According to a report by Belgian publication DH, the Reds are ready to offload Simon in the summer.

According to the same report, Mignolet is believed to be too expensive to keep at the club as a ‘number two’ and will not be plying his trade at Anfield next season.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper has likely been eyeing up the exit door since Alisson donned our famous shirt and he won’t be short of options should he leave.

Mignolet has recently been linked with moves to Napoli, Nice and Barcelona – the only issue with the latter is that the Belgian would likely be playing second fiddle to Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
