Liverpool star missed training ahead of Chelsea; Klopp isn’t worried

Sadio Mane was absent from training this week, ahead of Liverpool’s must-win clash against rivals Chelsea.

This came as a bit of a worry for Reds fans because the Senegalese star hadn’t reportedly injured himself.

Jurgen Klopp has spoken to the press, ahead of this weekend’s fixture, and said he is confident that Mane will play.

Sadio fell on his thumb and didn’t train yesterday, he should be okay today,” the boss is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

Should the winger be unavailable to Klopp, you’d have to expect Divock Origi to get the nod. There’s a chance Xherdan Shaqiri may be utilised but he’d be wrong-footed for our playing style.

Mane has scored 20 goals in all competitions for Liverpool and is crucial to the club’s run in as they look to lift an illustrious trophy this season.

We need to get the better of the Blues at Anfield this weekend and having our star players fit and ready to go is so important to us.

Eden Hazard is Chelsea’s main threat going forward; if we’re able to nullify him (easier said then done) our forwards should be able to take care of their job at the other end.
