To mark the 30th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster today Liverpool players have honoured the victims of the tragedy.
Jürgen Klopp and the first-team, together with the Liverpool Ladies team, academy sides, and chief executive officer Peter Moore, laid wreaths at Anfield in memorial to the 96 supporters who died at Hillsborough.

A minute’s silence will be held across Liverpool at 15:06, the exact time the FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest was halted 30 years ago in 1989.
In yesterday’s game with Chelsea, a minute’s silence was impeccably observed before the two sides played at Anfield.

The focal point for the anniversary memorial today will be at St George’s Hall, where banners and flags with the faces of those who lost their lives will be displayed.
96 candles are due to be lit, while banners bearing words “Never Forgotten” will be hung until Thursday.
Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral is also scheduled to host a special commerative service this afternoon.
The club issued a statement before the player and coaches visited the Hillsborough memorial at Anfield:
“Liverpool Football Club remembers the 96 supporters who died at Hillsborough, on the 30th anniversary of the disaster.
“As a result of the events on April 15, 1989, at the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, 96 children, women and men lost their lives.
“For the past three decades, the bereaved families and survivors of the tragedy have demonstrated remarkable courage, dignity and resilience.
“In April 2016, an inquest jury concluded that the 96 were unlawfully killed and that no role was played by the supporters in causing the disaster.
“Our thoughts are with all those affected by the tragedy at Hillsborough and the 96 fans who will never be forgotten.”
