Liverpool decide to go for Ajax Champions League star

Liverpool have joined the race for Eredivisie star Hakim Ziyech, but they’ll face still competition from Manchester United, City and Arsenal.

The Moroccan has caught the eye this season with some stunning displays in Europe as Ajax move into the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The forward would reportedly cost around £25million, according to the Mirror, and with a price like that he’s an absolute bargain.

The same report also claim City are watching the Moroccan as they see him as a replacement for the outgoing Ilkay Gundogan.

Ziyech has 19 goals and 20 assists this season which makes him one of the most productive footballers in Europe.

Ajax are top of the Eredivisie, in their domestic cup final and will face off against Spurs in the Champions League after defeating Real Madrid and Juventus in the previous two rounds.

The forward is contracted at his current club until 2021 after moving from Dutch rivals FC Twente in 2016.

Ziyech was eligible to play for the Netherlands or Morocco and played for the Dutch youth teams. He received his first call-up to the senior squad in 2015, but later that year, he confirmed his choice to represent the African country at the international stage.
