Liverpool interested in forward with unfortunate name, according to Italian reports

Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign a highly rated Gremio forward. The Reds will apparently face competition from sleeping Serie A giants AC Milan.

According to a report from Italian publication Calciomercato, the striker – known as simply Everton – is on the move this summer and has caught the eye of a number of European clubs.

Liverpool are competing at the highest level, with Manchester City in the Premier League and are in the semi-finals of the Champions League, and will have to keep up in the next transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have often lacked up top this season and it’d be a nightmare if Bobby Firmino were to sustain a long-term injury – it may be wise to go after the forward.

If our number nine was out for a few months we’d be forced to use Divock Origi and possibly shift Sadio Mane out of his preferred position – something we’ve seen before this year.

Everton is predominantly a left winger but can be deployed in a central role, a bit like our Belgian forward, and has managed 49 goals in 207 appearances for Gremio.

The 23 years old and has been a part of the Imortal Tricolor senior squad for five years. Last year he was called up to the Brazil national team, and made four appearances, but is yet to score.
