We totally know that doing wonders in Europe’s second-tier leagues, such as Portugal or the Netherlands, doesn’t guarantee a player is set for stardom.
But with Joao Felix, it’s just all too obvious.
The starlet is just 19-years-old but has 19 goals and seven assists for Benfica this season to go on top of his countless sublime performances.
He’s been linked to us throughout the season, such as here in the Mirror in February, but while we imagine the club have checked him out – we don’t know if a mega summer bid will arrive.
Last night, Felix scored two in Benfica’s 6-0 hammering of Maritimo – including a half-volleyed effort from a corner that was almost identical to Gini Wijnaldum’s opener v Cardiff the day before!
We dread to think what he’s going to cost somebody ahead of next term!
Mouth watering stuff. Goal for Benfica, no price for guessing who scored. The kid is on fire and that’s all you need to know. Ladies and Gentlemen, João Félix. Take a bow. pic.twitter.com/2a3SfRpWtC
