Jurgen Klopp puts Liverpool fans Firmino fears to rest

Roberto Firmino sat out of Liverpool’s Friday night battering of Huddersfield Town in the Premier League, but Jurgen Klopp doesn’t seem too worried about the Brazilian’s fitness.

Rumours had been circulating on social media that the forward may be out for some time, but it’s now been confirmed that it’s just a little muscle issue as the Reds manager laughed off suggestions it was a serious injury.

Yesterday after training he mentioned a little muscle issue,” he’s quoted as saying by the Mirror.

Klopp is confident Bobby will be back for our game against Barcelona next week.

We assess it obviously. It’s not a big thing, enough to leave him out today, that’s all,” he said.

It’s hardly a surprise the manager opted to give Daniel Sturridge a chance against the already relegated Huddersfield.

The Reds are now up against the Catalan giants on Wednesday night as we look to put our stamp on the semi-final tie early on. It’s crucial Bobby is back for us as he’s an important part of our team and the leaders of the Spanish league aren’t quite as easy opponents…

Firmino has scored 12 times for Liverpool this season and has provided six assists, but it’s his relentless pressing that makes him so valuable to Klopp and his team-mates.
