Jurgen Klopp sends warning to Liverpool star duo

Jurgen Klopp noticed something he didn’t like during Liverpool’s 5-0 triumph over Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Friday night.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are leading the domestic goal-scoring charts as the season begins to wind down, but the boss wants them to tone it down a little.

The Egyptian took his tally up to 21 and our Senegalese star took his to 20 with two brilliant headed efforts.

It’s difficult. I spoke to them, I didn’t want them to chase back anymore or stuff like that,” Klopp told Sky Sports – as per the Metro – when asked about his high-flying forwards.

The boss seems to not want his star players to be chasing individual awards in a game that’s already won with a Champions League semi-final against Barcelona to consider.

But for sure, in this moment, we are human beings,” he continued. “One has 21 now and the other 20 – so [you can’t] take one off in that moment. Both looked really good.

When you see then how Mo is running with each ball you think, “what the heck are you doing?” It’s good, but we need to talk about that obviously, that’s clear.”

I don’t think Klopp will be too upset with his players, but I do think he’ll be reminding them of their importance to the team. If Sadio or Mo got injured, with every remaining fixture currently being pivotal, it’d be a disaster.
