Klopp makes Keita admission after Huddersfield performance

Jurgen Klopp must have thought he was dreaming when Liverpool opened the scoring against Huddersfield last night within 15 seconds.

The lads pressed the Terriers back into their pens straight from kick-off and a mistake by Jon Gorenc Stankovic gifted Mo Salah the ball.

The Egyptian made no mistake as he found Naby Keita wandering into the box – the Guinean teased the ball off the far post to give the Reds the lead.

But Baby Keith didn’t stop there; he put in a world class midfield performance in both ends of the pitch by helping out the defence as well as contributing to the score-line.

Speaking to the press after the game, Klopp waxed lyrical about our number eight. “People expect you to pay money for a player and from the first day he is able to show everything he can do,” he’s quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

That would be nice if it was that easy, but he needed time, we gave him time and now he is there. It was for sure his best game tonight, in a lot of departments.

He was calm in the right moment, positive aggressive in the right moment, winning balls, blocking gaps, passing balls, being safe with the ball, turning and creating. It was just a brilliant game.”

It’s brilliant that Keita is now putting in the performances we expected from him when he moved from Leipzig – hopefully his turnaround will convince the few fans that weren’t convinced.

The fact he’s coming into form at the end of the season is very important; he can end this campaign on a high and won’t be getting anxious over the summer.
