Anfield exodus: 9 players reportedly set to leave Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has played down talk of a busy transfer window this summer, but the Liverpool Echo suggest nine players may be set for the exit door.

First on the metaphorical chopping block is Daniel Sturridge – the former England international has endured a relatively quiet season at Anfield and looked out-of-place in the Reds’ 5-0 drubbing of Huddersfield Town.

Fox Sports claim the forward has been offered to several Australian clubs already and could follow Robbie Fowler to Brisbane Roar.

Next is Alberto Moreno – the Spaniard looks to have voided the trust Klopp had in him and has just two Premier League appearances to his name this season.

You’d have to expect a return to La Liga to be on the cards for Alby.

Moving down the pecking order, Bobby Adekanye looks ready to move on too; the youngster has allowed his contract to run down and, according to Sky Sports, it seems he’ll be joining Lucas Leiva and Luis Alberto at Lazio.

I’m sure it won’t surprise anyone that Adam Bogdan is almost certainly headed for the door after spending this season on loan in Scotland. He never really stood a chance at the club and was one of the most mismatched signings of the Brendan Rodgers era.

According to the same report, Conor Masterson is not in frame for the first-team picture and will surely be a target for newly promoted clubs when he contract runs out in the summer.

The 20-year-old is a decent enough player, but he’s out of his depth at Liverpool, and will make for a good addition to whichever club he joins.

Connor Randall is next in line – the 23-year-old spent a few months at Rochdale last year and has played for our reserves since. Fellow full-back Juanma Garcia joined from Barcelona’s La Masia Academy in 2016 and now looks ready to move on too.

Lesser known youngsters Corey Whelan and Edvard Tagseth are also set to leave, according to the Echo report.
