Will Klopp risk starting fit-again Firmino against Barcelona?

Roberto Firmino is back in the mix after recovering from injury, but the jury is out on whether the Brazilian will start against Barcelona when the whistle blows at Camp Nou.

Having torn a muscle in his groin and missing out the 5-0 rout against Huddersfield, Firmino trained at Melwood and has been included in our 23-man travelling squad for the first leg of the semi-finals against Barcelona tonight.

Speaking to reporters in his Barcelona pre-match press conference, Jürgen Klopp suggested,“If Bobby is 100 per cent ready to play then he will maybe play.”

“He is here, he trained today, we have tomorrow another session and then I have to make a decision. That’s it,” he added.

As the boss said, it will depend on whether Bobby is firing on all cylinders as to whether he makes the bench or leads the line against the Catalan side.

Daniel Sturridge made little impact starting up front last time out against Huddersfield and we’ll a massive team performance for this Champions League heavyweight clash.

If Bobby does end up starting the night amongst the substitutes then we could have to resort to some kind of formation change as Klopp faces a tactical dilemma.

With Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah having previously played down the middle, we may have to draft in the likes of Divock Origi to play on the left for the first-half

Regardless, we can’t risk rushing Bobby back too soon with Newcastle also coming up this weekend. It seems likely we’ll see our No. 9 at some stage of the game, but whether he starts is still anyone’s guess.
