Virgil van Dijk scored the opening goal against Newcastle, but it was his hand in Divock Origi’s third and final winning goal that Reds fans have spotted as the match-winning moment.
With the free-kick set and Trent Alexander-Arnold stood over it, the Dutch colussus could clearly be seen directing his will from the box and trying to get Xherdan Shaqiri to take it.
Shaq promptly did and it was his ball into the box that Origi headed into the net to spark wild scenes for every single Reds fan watching.
Van Dijk waved and pointed forcefully at the two and knew that a Shaqiri left-footed delivery would better suit the situation then Trent’s right.
It was massively impressive how he took charge of the situtation and ordered his teammates what to do for the good of the team! Well in, big Virg!
