Suarez ruins Barca team-mates; declares ‘youth-team’ approach to defending

You can inject these comments into my veins!

Luis Suarez tried his best to cheat and snarly his way into a Champions League Final, at the expense of a team and fans who used to worship him.

But the Uruguayan was up against Jurgen Klopp’s Reds – who had the audacity to play him at his own game after failing to do so last week.

Not only did Suarez injure Andy Robertson and do his usual trick of trying to get everyone sent off, but he contributed virtually nothing as the Reds ran riot.

Suarez gave a furious post-match interview, in which he declared the defending for Liverpool’s fourth, ‘youth-team’ like.

‘We are very sad, very hurt,’ Suarez said, cited in the Metro.

‘It’s time to do a lot of self-criticism in our team, it is the second time that this has happened.

‘We cannot commit the same mistake two years in a row, we have to think about many things and must be ourselves, tell us things in the face, things that we’ve done wrong.

‘It’s not possible that in one minute we concede two goals. Their fourth goal? We looked like a youth team there.

‘The coach does not have to be reproached, we are the ones who have to ask for forgiveness.’

We love the irony of Suarez and Coutinho forcing Anfield exits and then being on the end of that last night.

But in truth, we actually outplayed Barca in the first-leg as well!

Now of course we need to go and win the competition to make it all worth it – but with a Final against either Spurs or Ajax set for Madrid – we’re going to be favourites.

Let’s get it done, Reds – and give Klopp the trophy he deserves.
