“Buzzing”: Raheem Sterling’s classy reaction to Reds’ Champions League comeback

Ex-Liverpool man Raheem Sterling says he was delighted to see the Reds reach the Champions League final after the incredible events of Tuesday night.

The Manchester City winger has not exactly been well-loved by Reds fans since he made the £49 million move to the Etihad Stadium, but you have to respect the comments he made at the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year awards on Thursday night.

According to the Metro, he said: “I was really happy for Liverpool, I was buzzing.

“People might not believe me but it’s true. Seeing some of the boys like Hendo and Trent in the final makes me happy, I’m really happy for them.”

Hopefully, the Reds go on and beat Spurs in the final in Madrid, but before then there is the small matter of the conclusion of the Premier League title race, which Sterling could play a big part in.

As long as the Reds beat Wolves at Anfield, you never know if Brighton can do something against City. Stranger things have happened at least once this week already!
